The new Fire Station No. 1 Replacement includes the City Provided Fire Response, the County provided EMS Rescue Response, as well as Fire Administration. The base program building will be an approximately 22,600 SF two-story structure. The project is located in a residential area of Naples, on Eighth Avenue South and Eighth Street South.
The base program includes: Three and one half (3½) apparatus bays and associated apparatus support spaces, Battalion Chief office, bunk, and restroom, general facility functions such as, kitchen, dining, report writing, physical agility, dormitories, restrooms and showers, and equipment / utility / support spaces are also included. Fire administration is located on the second floor and includes an Emergency Operations Center / multipurpose room.
The station is to be designed to meet the new FEMA FIRM map elevations, as well as updated code required wind and impact resistant design. This will support the continuity of this vital emergency response function, both during normal operations and in times of natural disasters.
